Introducing the 10 Cultural Practices That Will Cost you Time, Money, and Talent
January 25, 201510 Cultural Practices #4: Employee Reward Programs
February 5, 2015In most of my articles and posts I describe how to execute practices that help build a collaborative organizational culture. I am posting two Cultural Practices per week that define the 10 Cultural Practices that will cost you time, money, and talent.
I WOULD LIKE YOUR HELP – PLEASE OFFER YOUR FEEDBACK ON THESE PRACTICES.
If you find a practice that you have experienced in a culture that you have been part of – I would love to hear your comments. If you find the concept interesting, please share the post with a business acquaintance, or better yet, add the post to your LinkedIn and/or Facebook page.
#3: NOT DEALING WITH CONFLICT
Conflict is a basic human activity – and an activity that very few people like to participate in. But conflict is a core activity that allows progress to be made. If an organization has no conflict, then I contend that it will eventually fail. Conflict often creates tension and passion about direction and activities. Conflict can provide the energy for productive change and collaboration.
Try to remember three thoughts about managing conflict: a] make sure you are having a discussion about the same problem b] let all of the passion be expressed before you start looking for solutions c] find a short term solution (the more the passion, the shorter the time frame).
Organizations that deal with conflicts regularly, grow and change; organizations that don’t deal with conflicts, stagnate and perish.
